Explore meaningful themes through a blend of guided conversation, embodied reflection, and curated literature.
This event is part of The Unapologetic Circle series, a monthly gathering that’s facilitated by private transition coach Jenny Calcoen and designed for women in the middle of life who are navigating the profound transition from "performing" a role to living more truly as themselves.
You are the person who holds everything together. You are good at it. And those who depend on you the most are the ones who know you the least.
There is something you have not said out loud. You may not have the words for it. Or you may have the words but no room where it is safe to say them.
The Unapologetic Circle is that room.
It’s a small, unhurried gathering for women in the middle of life.
Each event is anchored by a theme and a touchstone book. There is time to become present and reflect in the company of women who are not performing. Nothing is required of you except honesty. You participate on your own terms.
OCT 13 – BOUNDARIES You keep saying yes. You stopped meaning it a long time ago. This month’s gathering is anchored by “French Braid” by Anne Tyler, a novel about a family whose members spend decades concealing their real lives from one another, and a mother who draws a quiet line around what belongs to her. We will explore what happens in the space between a private decision and a public life, and what it means to hold a line no one else can see.
NOV 10 – LETTING GO You built something real: a career, a role, a way of being in the world that worked. And then somewhere along the way, you grew past it. This month’s gathering is anchored by “Stone Yard Devotional” by Charlotte Wood, a novel about a woman who leaves her career in conservation to live in a remote monastery, having quietly closed the chapter on her marriage and the life she built. We will explore what happens when a woman allows something that was once right to be finished.
DEC 08 – COMPLETION As the year winds down, something in you has completed itself. December’s gathering is different from the previous ones. It is anchored not by a single book, but by the full arc of the year: 10 months of themes that each named something true about the life of a woman in the middle of all of it. The reflections will draw on the year’s themes. We will explore what has been completed, what she knows now, and what is already here.
The Unapologetic Circle is a curated, intentional space held with care. Expect guided presence practices, reflections, and conversations. You do not need to have read the book to attend. The reflections are accessible to every woman in the room.
Jenny Calcoen is a private transition coach and founder of Inner Earthquake. After a career in corporate leadership, including running a global single-family office, she built and runs a private practice grounded in existential coaching for high-impact women in the middle of life.
This event will be hosted in our third-floor loft space, which is only accessible by stairs. Please plan to arrive at 3:15 p.m. so we all have time to settle in.
