A four-part journey through Julia Cameron’s “The Artist’s Way.”

You don’t have to do “The Artist’s Way” alone. Many people don’t make it through the first four weeks of “The Artist’s Way” without some kind of support, accountability, or community. This four-part series is designed to give you exactly that: a place to check in, stay accountable, ask questions, talk through what’s coming up, and keep going when life inevitably gets busy. Rather than meeting every week, we’ll gather four times throughout the 12-week book to create momentum and community around your individual practice. You’ll work through the book at your own pace between gatherings, while our time together will be an energizing space for discussion, reflection, accountability, and encouragement.

Lucinda has been leading “The Artist’s Way” workshops for 10 seasons and has a particular gift for making the process feel fun, accessible, and doable. The sessions foster curiosity and give every artist, no matter their skill level, permission to make things.

PART ONE: THE INTRO

Saturday, September 26 · 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

We’ll begin together with an introduction to “The Artist’s Way”: what the book is, how to approach the 12-week journey, and why these seemingly simple practices can create such a profound shift in your creative life. We’ll talk through the foundational practices, set intentions for the weeks ahead, and get to know the group.

Between gatherings: Read and work through Weeks 1 – 4.

PART TWO: REVIEW WEEKS 1 - 4

Saturday, October 24 · 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

We’ll come together to check in on the beginning of your Artist’s Way journey, share what’s been surprising or challenging, troubleshoot the places where you’ve gotten stuck, and celebrate what’s already shifting. We’ll also look ahead and talk about how to keep your momentum going through the middle of the book.

Between gatherings: Read and work through Weeks 5 – 9.

PART THREE: REVIEW WEEKS 5 - 9

Saturday, November 21 · 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

By this point, you’ll be well into the journey - and the work may be getting more interesting, more uncomfortable, more joyful, or all three! We’ll check in on Weeks 5 – 9, talk about what’s emerging in your creative life, and create space for honest conversation about the process. We’ll use the group to help each other stay accountable and connected as we enter the final stretch.

Between gatherings Read and work through Weeks 10 – 12.

PART FOUR: CLOSE & CARRY IT FORWARD

Saturday, December 12 · 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

We’ll gather one final time to close out the book and the group. We’ll reflect on the 12-week journey, celebrate what has changed, name what we want to carry forward, and consider how to keep the practices of The Artist’s Way alive beyond the final page.

This series is for you if:

  • You’ve always wanted to do The Artist’s Way but haven’t known where to start.
  • You’ve started the book before and never made it to the end.
  • You want a creative reset, but the idea of committing to a weekly class feels like too much.
  • You simply want to spend the fall making more room for creativity, curiosity, and possibility.

Come as you are.

Her approach to “The Artist’s Way” is warm, playful, practical, and deeply accessible. She makes the process feel less like homework and more like an invitation to become curious about yourself and what you want to create.

Lucinda graduated from Brown University with a degree in English and is based in Ojai, California, where she continues to build community through Giddy by Nature’s workshops, gatherings, writing experiences, and creative retreats.

Her favorite "Artist’s Way” philosophy is simple: Show up as you are.

Students should buy the book in advance and read “The Basic Tools“—up to page 24—before the first session.
